The IELTS Academic test is one of two IELTS tests you can take. It uses more academic language and questions than the General Training test, and aims to assess if you are able to train, work, or study in an English-speaking environment.
The structure of the test is the same for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training with four sections: Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking. The main difference is the test content: IELTS Academic includes questions more suited to people who are going to study in a university setting and IELTS General Training includes questions more suited to everyday life in Canada.
