IELTS Speaking Examiner

One of our Independent Test Centre partners is looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join their team of IELTS Speaking Examiners. Selected candidates will be given paid training and assistance to be certified as an examiner.

Perform in-person examinations for the IELTS test used for the purposes of Permanent Residency and Citizenship requirements for immigrants. You will be scoring according to a worldwide standard.

Requirements: 

  • An undergraduate or Master’s Degree or a qualification that can be demonstrated as equivalent to an undergraduate or Master’s Degree.
  • A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognized university award course.
  • At least three years full-time (or the equivalent part-time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification). Most of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).
  • Experience with exam invigilation is an asset
  • The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 8 per week (Mostly on the weekends)

IELTS Video Speaking Examiners

We are looking for IELTS speaking examiners to join the Video Call Speaking (VCS) Hub conducting interviews from home in certain selected countries for test takers in various locations around the world.

Before completing the online application form, please be aware of the following:

  • Only active speaking examiners will be considered
  • You must attend a VCS technical screening session
  • If your initial application is successful, you will attend a training session, which will be delivered remotely
  • You will be required to deliver a practice VCS speaking test after your training and practice and you will be assessed
    on your delivery. Passing the assessment is required before you can start examining on VCS.
  • All speaking examiners will be required to abide by the PSN Code of Practice• All speaking examiners will be subject to a security and reference check (if not currently engaged through Comensura)
  • All speaking examiners must meet the legal and contractual requirements for this location as set out below

Coast English Testing – British Council IELTS Official Test Centre: Call for Experienced ESL Teachers

We’re seeking qualified ESL professionals to join our team of IELTS Speaking Examiners in Abbotsford and Surrey. This is a contract position with flexible weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Recognized TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification.
  • 3+ years of full-time ESL teaching experience (post-certification).
  • Native-level English proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

1. Application Process

  • Review qualifications carefully – only qualified candidates will be considered.

  • If selected, bring original documents to the interview.

2. Training and Certification

  • Dates: September 21-22, 2024 (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM both days).
  • Location: 7380 King George Boulevard, Surrey, BC, V3W 5A5.
  • Cost: $250.00.
  • Certification is required before the examination.
  • Ongoing performance monitoring for all examiners.

3. Position Details:

  • Pay: Starting at $17.00 per speaking test ($51.00/hour equivalent).
  • Locations: Surrey and Abbotsford.
  • Frequency: 1-2 times per month, select Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Start Date: October 2024.
